About Khusela
What is Khusela?
Benefits information and admin tools in one place for South African individuals and employers: a free medical scheme comparison, a benefits budget calculator, and a payroll process review service. Khusela is a brand of EDGEBOX AI NETWORKS (Pty) Ltd, Reg. 2025/631284/07, Cape Town.
Can I buy funeral cover from Khusela today?
Not yet. Applications are not open. A group funeral benefit will launch only with a licensed South African life insurer as underwriter and the required regulatory authorisation in place. Employers can register non-binding interest now.
Is Khusela a medical scheme broker?
No. The comparison tool is informational. Listed schemes are not Khusela partners, there are no paid placements, and we do not advise you which scheme to join. Confirm details with each scheme before deciding.
The comparison tool
Where does the plan data come from?
The directory holds the open medical schemes listed in Government Gazette 54417 of 27 March 2026. Each option shows published contributions with source links and PDF page references, and the review date is displayed. A lower contribution does not mean equivalent cover.
Why do prices exclude dependants?
Displayed contributions are for one main member, because dependant pricing varies by scheme and family shape. Use the budget calculator to model your own numbers; entered amounts stay in your browser.
The payroll process review
What does it cost and include?
Proposed fee: R15,000, confirmed in a written quote with scope, acceptance criteria, VAT treatment and delivery terms. You get a process map, an issue register, written checks and a decision note, with one round of review and agreed corrections included. Live-record reconciliation and implementation are excluded. The first discussion is free.
What should I not send you?
Employee names, ID numbers, personal payroll figures, policy details or health records. The review works from your process walkthrough, blank layouts and non-personal instructions. See the worked sample.
For employers
What does registering interest commit me to?
Nothing. It is non-binding, creates no obligation, requires no employee information, and can be withdrawn at any time. It tells us the gap is real and shapes the first scheme around how your payroll runs. Start at the employers page.
What would the group benefit cost the business?
The design goal is zero cost to the business: participation is voluntary and employee-paid via payroll deduction, with one deduction line per participating worker and no claims handling on your side.
